Why Does Working With The Owner Matter?
Because the person who quotes your vehicle is the person standing in your driveway. The number doesn't change when the truck arrives, nothing gets deducted for towing, and you aren't repeating your story to a dispatcher who has never seen the vehicle.
It also means Jay knows Mission. Long gravel driveways up past Dewdney, steep Cedar Valley driveways, vehicles parked behind a shop in Silverdale, and acreage pickups where the vehicle hasn't moved since before the fence went up. He has already worked out how to get a dead vehicle out of most of them.
What Kind Of Work Has Jay Actually Done?
Years in a tow truck and thousands of recoveries. Most of it is ordinary Fraser Valley vehicles at the end of their life, and a lot of it is helping people through a job they only ever do once or twice.
High-kilometre Civics and Corollas. Grand Caravans that raised a family and then sat. F-150s and Rams with rusted rear frames. Work vans retired after a decade of trades work. Vehicles with no keys, no battery, seized brakes, flat tires, or moss growing on the roof. That's what the winch and the deck are for.
Safety first, every time. A vehicle that has been sitting for years has rusted mounting points and brakes that won't release. It gets winched carefully, strapped properly and hauled on the deck — never dragged out and never rushed to save ten minutes.

Ruby is Jay's dog, and she rides along some days. That's the whole story.
She's mentioned here for one reason: this is a real local person with a truck and a dog, not a lead-generation website that sells your phone number to whoever bids highest.
How Are The Vehicles Recycled?
Every vehicle is delivered to a licensed recycler with a paper trail, so it isn't still legally sitting on your name somewhere.
Fluids are drained and captured first — fuel, oil, coolant, brake fluid and refrigerant. Reusable parts are salvaged for vehicles still on the road here, and the shell is processed for steel and aluminium. That's the part people never see, and it's the reason a vehicle still has value when the engine is finished.
What Should You Expect On The Call?
A short, plain conversation. Year, make, model, whether it runs, and where it's sitting. You get a cash number and a pickup window.
If something about your situation is unusual — a lost registration, an estate vehicle, a vehicle in somebody else's name — say so on the call and Jay will tell you exactly what's needed. If the answer depends on ICBC, he'll say that instead of pretending to be certain.
